Your first visit

I offer an initial meeting at a reduced fee of £30 which is an opportunity for us to meet in a relaxed way and discuss what is bringing you to counselling. I will be able to explain the way I work and you will have a chance to ask questions and decide if you feel comfortable with the way I work and what I am offering. If you decide that it's not right for you, I will help you look at where else you could go to access support.

Number of sessions

I work with both long term and short term counselling. It may be that you just want a few sessions to help you with a particular difficulty or issue that you may be experiencing or you may want to begin a longer journey into more in depth work. These are your sessions so it depends entirely on you and your hopes and expectations of counselling. Whether you choose long or short term counselling, we will regularly review our work.

How often we meet

Counselling sessions usually take place weekly and last 1 hour. However you may decide that you would rather meet fortnightly, monthly or even every so often. These are your sessions so it is up to you and we can talk about this when we first meet.

The Way I Work

I am trained to work with a variety of counselling methods and approaches. As each person that I work with brings their own individual experiences and their own unique self into counselling I tailor my approach to what may be most helpful and appropriate for each client.

Some clients prefer to talk and I listen and make reflections and observations. For others it’s not so easy to find words to express how they think and feel so we may work through other forms of expression.

Confidentiality

Everything that we talk about will be strictly confidential although there are instances when I would need to break confidentiality and I will explain this to you clearly in our first session.

Session Fees

Each session costs £50 for one hour, which is payable at the end of each session.
